David Womble's personal site is back online. Kind of scary isn't it? So I'm starting simple. HTML, a couple flash image players (coming soon) and some editorial. Of course, it could be the appletini's talking... It's been along time since this site has seen the light of day. Last few years have been nothing short of an adventure. Here we go... (suddenly I've got a Jane's Addiction song playing in my head). So who am I? Let's start with the professional life. Vice-President of Digitec Interactive. An Orlando based company specializing in e-learning and application development. We've got a pretty spectacular client list (Disney, Yum, Starwood, Cisco, VMware, Symantec, PADI, etc.) but a very old website (5 years and counting since redesign). We're in the process of getting our new site online but it may be a bit before it's live. The new site will be a Knowledge Direct CMS implementation which is part or our Knowledge Direct Web Suite of products. If you're interested in our e-learning development, visit our Play2teach website for more information (very cool stuff). The beauty of being one of the bosses is you get to touch almost all projects that come in shop. Since I'm also the PM for all the Starwood project I get to travel to some really cool places (see the photo section for info). Outside the shop I have interests all over the place. I'm a produced playwright and a member of the Playwrights' Round Table. I'm also a petrol/gear head with 3 cars (The Vette Convertible (Notice the initial caps), a 99 Miata that I've turned into a rally car and a 65 Mustang). The Vette is my daily driver and the newest edition to the family. My wife has the practical car of the family. I also sculpt (see the costumes section). I've also been attempting to learn guitar (ESP MH-250 and it rocks). My music collection is pretty ludicrous (20,000+ plus songs, 2000+ CDs and all legal). What can I say, I love packaging and the quality of a good cd. I tend to go to a tremendous amount of concerts (I'm in triple digits and counting). Nightwish is the next up (Thursday and there is a meet and greet with band!!!!!!!! Can't tell I'm excited). I'm hoping to start including album reviews and concert reviews as I go (ambitious thinking but we can dream). I'm also a bit of a photo-geek and like to think I'm a descent photographer. My travels have allowed me to see some amazing places and shoot them as well. See my photo section to see sample of my work (my wife, Michelle, thinks I should start selling them as stock). The pics section also includes some of shots of my adventures over the last few years (Snapshots not "posed shots"). When I find time, I try to sculpt, which is truly my passion. I'm pretty comfortable in almost any media but the last few years I have primarily stayed in the oil based clays and then cast in latex for mask work. It's kind of turned into costume design. See my costume section for samples. I've always believed that human mind is a truly amazing thing and that anything is achievable. I would like to think that is the motto I live by. Boundaries are self imposed, open your mind and you will find boundaries don't exist... I think I've rambled enough for one night... Peace, Love
and Rock-n-Roll,
